Pros: JMP is an extremely powerful statistical subscription based software package. Every analysis that I have wanted to do is there, nothing is missing. They really listen to customer feedback and continuously improving be releasing new versions. You can install and run multiple versions if you like. The graphics looks professional, the calculations are fast, and the statistics are top notch. The makers of JMP (SAS) hold regular seminars all over the USA to teach you how to get more out of it. These seminars are 'free' in that the price of admission is included in the annual subscription fee. When we first signed up, a local representative came on site and helped us set it up and showed us everything we needed to know. They are very responsive to emails and phone calls if you cannot figure out how to do something.

Mac

Cons: It may be a little too powerful for some users. The menu structure is somewhat complex and the scripting language can be quite intimidating at first, but you can get around fine without scripting anything if you don't want to. It does take time to learn how to use it properly but once you get the hang of it, you'll accept no substitute.

To determine your version of JMP, launch JMP and display the Help menu (Windows) or the JMP menu (Mac), then select About JMP. JMP Pro 14.1 update for Windows (apply only to JMP Pro 14 for Windows): This update will convert an existing installation of JMP 14.0 to JMP 14.1.0.

Overall: Very capable statistical analysis

Install Jmp Software

SAS Institute's JMP bucks the ported-from-minicomputers look of most statistics packages by offering a distinctively modern interface, and version 4 of this Mac statistics favorite offers an even more convenient tabbed interface and a powerful new scripting language.

JMP 4 organizes tests into convenient, tabbed menus. Under the Modeling tab is a new section of tests-for-time series. Under Data Handling, data tables provide more classification tags than before, and the program supports direct import of ODBC data. More significant for industrial users is a greatly expanded Design Of Experiments section.

The single most important new element, however, is a C-like scripting language that lets you use JMP to automate the test-report cycle. In addition to its value in testing and report generation, JMP's scripting language offers potent matrix commands that let you program custom statistics procedures in just a few lines of code.

Traditional statistics programs, which display menu test lists in the same order as standard textbook chapters, are generally a bit easier for beginners to use. But JMP's approach is logical, and with a modest amount of experimentation most users will soon find their way.
